Greetings, A 128 core system should receive 640 maximum task at a time. Are all the 128 threads hardware cores or is this the hyperthread number? As of now, we are setting 5 per core, so you should be receiving 640 total. However, if your computer uses hyperthreads or virtual cores, it is possible that you may be receiving lesser tasks. Hello, Thank you for your suggestion. We have implemented a 128 max_ncpus, since this covers almost all hosts. Sincerely, the BOINC@TACC development team |

Hello, So far, we have found VirtualBox 6.0.14, 6.0.18, 6.1.2, 6.1.4 to work on Windows 10 clients. However, we have seen problems with 6.1.2, 6.1.4 on Ubuntu systems. Sincerely, the BOINC@TACC development team |

When I had upgraded to 6.0.14 on an old dual AMD G34 rig recently (included with the latest BOINC client) I noticed Virtualbox VM's to become so slow that they were really unusable. Googling the issue showed many others with it and that it seemed to affect AMD chips more than Intel. The solution for me was downgrading to an older v5 again. Just wanted to give the heads up in case anyone else runs into such a thing. ![]() |

Is this project only crunching under the Virtual Machine format? No WU's for the standard BOINC client, Win x64? |

Yes, BOINC@TACC currently requires the use of VirtualBox. Sincerely, the BOINC@TACC development team |
